I am a first-generation migrant who moved from Belarus to Germany in 2013. Looking back at my achievements, I can only now fully understand the prize of successful integration into another culture. I had to shift the focus away from my own culture and history, thus forgetting my native language and giving up the Slavic identity.
To prevent complete assimilation into the new surroundings, I set a goal for my bachelor project to integrate east Slavic visual culture in the western world.
Therefore I chose a medium, which surrounds us, guides our decisions, and even reveals stories in everyday life - the typeface.
