One of the most most effective measures for the suppression of Covid19 pandemic is social distancing. During the first wave, a lot of businesses and local communities implemented signage on the floors to indicate the proposed distance. The problem remained how to perceive and remember the distance of 1.5 meters when no signs are present. Building upon that, I came up with a visual language for a series of floor signs for social distancing which is supposed to suggest “the new normal” state of spending time outside. In order to understand the danger of close contact, I created an interactive video projection that shows how social distancing works in action.
